Stella the Corella

December 9, 2017 by Nicola Rae Leave a Comment

Stella the little Corella who had a gun shot wound and broken wing has moved to her soft release site in preparation for freedom. She’s been such a great patient in care and a pleasure to look after. I’m so happy we were able to save her she’s a beautiful parrot.

It’s so unnecessary to shoot wildlife on farms. Protect you fruit trees with wildlife safe netting or fencing or share your fruit!

The great news is her wing healed almost perfectly and she gained full flight again. She was soft released from a friend’s wildlife shelter locally as she has a flock of wild Corellas come down regularly in her paddocks. She hung around enjoying the supplement feed of fruit and seed for a few weeks then join he flock and off she went!

A very happy ending.
