Be prepared!

Be Prepared

You never know when you might come across an animal in need so there are a few things you can be prepared with.

  • Phone numbers you should save in your mobile phone: Wildlife Victoria 1300 094 535, your local shelter and or any wildlife carers numbers you can call if needed. Police can also help you if you are stuck.
You can find your local Wildlife shelters number by contacting your local council or by contacting DELWEP 136 186
  • Local vets: make sure you know where a vet is and what their number is. Investigate their wildlife polices before sending an animal there. Some vets are better than others. We recommend Lort Smith Animal Hospital, Ivanhoe East Veterinary Hospital or Healesville Sanctuary.
  • Carry a spare fresh bottle of water for animals and a (collapsible) bowl
  • Towel or a blanket to wrap an animal up in. Best to use a material that is natural
  • Disposable gloves
  • Torch
  • Scissors
  • Pet carrier
